Oktoberfest takes place on October 4-6 at the US Army Heritage and Education Center. Carlisle Barracks has hosted Oktoberfest since 2008. This is a great opportunity for the military community to interact with the public in a positive and fun venue. Many service members have spent countless tours of duty in Germany and reflect fondly on their time abroad.

There will be entertainment, games, activities, carnival rides, and the unveiling of the official brew of the Army War College in the beer and wine garden. There will be numerous food vendors as well as an indoor arts & crafts fair (Saturday only from 11 am to 4 pm).

Visitors can also choose to participate in a variety of contests including a stein holding contest, a kids' apple pie eating contest, a keg toss, a wife-carrying contest, a hot dog eating contest, and a sauerkraut eating contest.

Visitors enjoy free admission. There will be a free shuttle and taxi service with stops at Keystone Arms, Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle High School, Dickinson College, and Comfort Suites Downtown Carlisle.

What to bring: Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothes are highly recommended.
What not to bring: bicycles, weapons, illegal drugs or personal alcoholic beverages are not permitted at Oktoberfest.
