Opening Reception: Philadelphia Artist Michael Yoder
Philadelphia-based artist Michael Yoder will exhibit paintings and works on paper from his Kahn Project at Dickinson’s Goodyear Gallery through Oct. 29. An opening reception for the exhibition will take place Tuesday, October 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the gallery, 595 W. Louther St. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
Yoder’s Kahn Project is an ongoing investigation of architect Louis Kahn’s unrealized vision for Center City Philadelphia. Yoder is a nationally recognized artist who has exhibited in New York, Boston and Philadelphia, among other major cities. His work has been highly regarded in publications, and he has received several awards and grants, most notably an Artist-in-Residence Grant from The Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas, and an Artist-in-the-Marketplace Grant from The Bronx Museum of the Arts, each of which was accompanied by a show of his work. Yoder previously exhibited his work at Dickinson in 2006, which was curated by professor Todd Arsenault.
