Opening Reception -- Edward Burtynsky: Water
“Edward Burtynsky: Water,” a selection of large-scale photographs that draw attention to the growing needs of an expanding and thirsty civilization that is reshaping Earth, will be on display at The Trout Gallery at Dickinson College, Weiss Center for the Arts, 240 W. High St., through Oct. 19. The gallery will host a reception on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 6-7 p.m. in conjunction with the premiere of “Current,” a multidisciplinary production by pianist Jennifer Blyth and artist Todd Arsenault. The exhibition, reception, and performance are free and open to the public.
Burtynsky is one of the world’s most accomplished contemporary photographers. “Over the… years, I have learned a few things about water,” Burtynsky said in 2013. “When disrupted from its natural course there are always winners and losers.”
