Arts on the Square presents “Organ Spooktacular,” featuring three of the area’s finest organists performing music that is often associated with ghosts and goblins. In addition, comedy, acting, dancing, and light show will round out this annual extravaganza.
The principal organist will be Tyler Canonico, minister of music and organist at Market Square Church, Harrisburg, joined by Ellen Hunt, minister of music emerita at Market Square Church, and Daniel Dorty, director of music at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Mechanicsburg.
They will perform on the church’s new 83-rank, four-manual J. Nedra Schilling Organ, created by Orgues Létourneau of St.-Hyacinthe, Québec.
Also on the bill are the Market Square Singers, who will join in with some of the most dramatic parts of Mozart’s “Requiem” and dancers from The Studio in Enola for some light-hearted moments. Millersville University’s Department of Communication and Theatre and Premier Production Services of Harrisburg will provide some of the spookiest lighting and atmosphere around.
Mask-wearing and social distancing are required for the safety of all.
