Come learn about the history of crêpes and their meaning in French culture! In this discussion, Assistant Professor Adeline Soldin from Dickinson College will introduce you to early French history, the early history of crêpes, and a basic recipe for crêpes. Adeline Soldin has been an Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Dickinson College since 2015. Her research and teaching focuses on French literature and culture of the long Nineteenth Century, with particular attention given to women’s, gender, and sexuality studies; performance theory; visual culture; food studies; and modernism. At Dickinson, she teaches all levels of French including courses on French food culture, women writers, and Belle Époque Paris. She is currently finishing a book on Marcel Proust’s A la Recherche du Temps Perdu.
