Pilates 101: The Mat Method
Are you looking for easy exercise to shape and heal your body from head to toe? Pilates 101 will introduce the beginner to the Pilates Mat method: its history, purpose, and benefits. Pilates expert, Allison, will teach you about Pilates fundamentals covered in a Beginner Mat class, such as original mat exercises by Joseph. She will sprinkle in her knowledge while everyone is moving and learning. Join Allison from Absolute Pilates for a beginner Pilates class to help heal/prevent injury, improve posture, increase metabolism, and more! Dress comfortably and be prepared to be on the floor with a mat or a towel.
Allison has almost 20 years and 1000 hours of Pilates teaching experience. Her current focus has become those that feel they can’t exercise and can’t feel good. She teaches clients in her Mechanicsburg studio, does virtual training, and helps staff in all three studios. Additionally, she runs her Pilates and barre teacher training program in Central PA. She has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and two undergrad degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. She has taken specialty workshops for Pink Ribbon Pilates, Pilates for MS, the Center for Women's Health and Fitness, Fusion Pre and Post Natal, Pilates for Neurological Disorders and Core Align Equipment.
