Ashcombe's annual houseplant event is back. Join the from January 29 through February 6 for a week of special sales, workshops, and programs. Be sure to visit their 'Stem Swap' to trade your houseplant cuttings for someone else's. Also, take advantage of their free potting service when you buy a plant and a pot at the same time.

January 29

Carnivorous Plant Care, at 11 am. Join Kevin Kelly, an experienced gardener with insight on the care of carnivorous plants. In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of potting and caring for carnivorous plants. Class is $10 per person. Register here.

Succulent Log Planter at 2 pm. In this class, you'll work with Kerri on planting a small concrete log planter full of succulents. This is the perfect way to add some cottage core décor to your home. The rough wood with smooth succulents creates an elegant and rustic appearance, which is great as a centerpiece or as an addition to any room in your home. The class is limited to 20 participants. January 30

The Art of Bonsai at 11 am. Bonsai is an art form that focuses on growing specific trees and shrubs in shallow containers. If not done correctly, the end result will not be correct. Come learn the art of Bonsai from expert Jim Doyle from Nature's Way Nursery in Harrisburg. He will be here to speak about the art of Bonsai and demonstrate the proper care of these special plants. Fairy garden and terrarium workshop at 2 pm. Come by for a fairy garden and terrarium workshop class. You'll create a beautiful home for a fairy. Shop for plants and accessories as part of the class. The cost is $7 plus the cost of plants and accessories. Register here.

February 5

Houseplant Care Demonstration at 11 am. Karen Schwarzbauer of the Penn-Cumberland Garden Club and the Hobby Greenhouse Association will offer tips on identifying and propagating. Each participant will also receive a plant to take home! The cost is $15. 

February 6

Herbs for Tea and Tea Blending at 11 am. In this class, participants will learn how to use herbs to make tea with Susanna Reppert Brill from the Rosemary House. Learn the art of blending herbs to make the perfect cup of tea. Each participant will create their own blend to take home! The cost is $15 per person. Register here.

Indoor Herb Garden at 2 pm. Kerri will walk you through planting an indoor herb garden for your kitchen! Select your favorite herbs or try something new! You'll have the opportunity to select from our large variety of herbs to create your perfect indoor herb garden. The cost is $40 per person. Register here.
