Join the Cumberland County Historical Society (CCHS), the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau, the Downtown Carlisle Association, and Dan Collison State Farm as we kick off summer with a live lunchtime event on June 9th from Noon to 1:00 pm at 21 N. Pitt Street, Carlisle. Join us for light refreshments, pick up a passport, and view CCHS's next exhibit, Railroading in the Cumberland Valley.
The passport features six participating locations: Cumberland County Historical Society (Carlisle), Mechanicsburg Museum Association (Mechanicsburg), East Pennsboro Historical Society (Enola), Shippensburg Historical Society (Shippensburg), Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum (Shippensburg), Conrail Historical Society (Shippensburg) and Harris Tower (Harrisburg). Visit all six locations, check in at each location, tag CCHS and the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau on social media OR take a family picture, bring the passport back to the History on High Gift Shop in Carlisle, and receive a FREE Railroad-themed gift.
Railroading in the Valley is a comprehensive exhibition featuring objects, photos, ephemera, and a wonderful interactive model train display spanning six galleries at the Cumberland County Historical Society at 21 North Pitt Street in Historic Carlisle, PA. The exhibit will run until mid-December and is FREE to the public.
