Dr. Dale Bredesen, an internationally renowned expert in the field of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, will give the lecture “Reducing the Global Burden of Dementia: The First Alzheimer’s Survivors”. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture. This event is free and open to the public.

The Alzheimer's Association estimates that 5.5 million Americans are living with the disease, which is the most common form of dementia. The World Alzheimer Report estimated that nearly 50 million individuals globally were living with dementia in 2015. Bredesen will discuss new approaches he and his team have taken to treat Alzheimer's. His work suggests that a more personalized approach for treating the disease, along with increased education, is needed to reduce its effects worldwide.
