Join us to commemorate the dedication of Gettysburg National Cemetery in November 1863. This solemn event features a luminary candle on each of the 3,512 Civil War soldiers' graves, and the names of the fallen soldiers are read throughout the evening.
Volunteers are needed to help set up, read the names of the Civil War soldiers, and clean up at the end of the event. Volunteer assignments are limited and will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Sponsor a luminary candle in honor or memory of a loved one. The Gettysburg Foundation can accept candle sponsorships by phone or online through Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.
The event is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
