Overview
Locations

Beginning with the post-war situation in Bosnia, Janet Powers, photographer and retired Gettysburg College professor, will describe three Bosnian women's groups and how these groups are using traditional crafts to create new products and to earn money. A major focus will be on "Sarajevo Phoenix," a group of 14 women whose embroidered and crocheted products are marketed on Etsy and in south-central Pennsylvania at bazaars and arts councils. The lecture will take place in conjunction with Power's photography exhibit, "The Balkan Backstory," in CALC's upper gallery.
