This year marks the 160th Anniversary of the Shelling of Carlisle. While hugely overshadowed by history for its coinciding date with The Battle of Gettysburg, we are planning an event to showcase this little-known bit of Civil War history!
There will be walking tours, musical performances, military demonstrations, and lots more. At 3:00 p.m., the reenactment of the Shelling of Carlisle begins! After the reenactment, the Sons of Union Veterans will host a ceremony at the Civil War Monument on the square.
Hosted by Historic Carlisle Inc. in partnership with such organizations as The Sons of Union Veterans, Downtown Carlisle Association, Carlisle Theatre, Create-A-Palooza, and many others!
Additional information will be posted closer to the event. If you have any questions, please contact one of the individuals listed below.
