Sherry Ostroff Presents “The Lucky One”
Join us for an informative discussion about Sherry Ostroff’s new book.
The Lucky One tells the true story of a family’s harrowing flight from Russia’s infamous pogroms of the early 1900s. The story consists of the memories of Ita, Ostroff’s mother, interspersed with the author’s meticulous historical and cultural research of life and events of the Pale, a large swath of land in Western Russia, where Jews were forced to live for centuries.
Ostroff, originally from Philadelphia, earned a Bachelor’s in education from Temple University and a Master’s in history from Millersville University. She taught for 30 years and is now retired. Devoting much of her time to writing, family, including two grandsons, and traveling around the world, keeps her busy. She lives with her high school sweetheart in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and is now working on a new project, a historical novel.
Ostroff will be selling and signing copies of her book after the presentation.
