This foundational course teaches the basic principles of Thai Yoga (Nuad Boran), a healing and spiritual practice from Thailand that many have nick-named “Lazy humans Yoga.” Each participant will learn a basic Thai sequence that should take 90-minutes when skills are proficient.
The sequence will include Sen Line techniques, soft tissue compression, and joint mobilization while supine, prone, seated, kneeling, and side-position. The program also includes instruction on safely moving another person’s body around and how to use props to support and stabilize your receivers.
Each day, participants will trade sessions with other participants to build confidence working with a variety of bodies, as well as give themselves a self-massage to further develop sensitivity for touch that is effective, attuned and adaptable. We will also review anatomy and good body mechanics as the course unfolds.
This program is a deep immersion into healthy, sacred touch, and offers practitioners a rich, first step towards offering Thai massage professionally.
Please note: These credit hours MAY NOT be used toward the 300-hour yoga teacher certification
The times on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday may be adjusted as needed.
