Best-selling author, former National Geographic photographer and Dickinson alumnus Rick Smolan will share stories and images from the history of social justice in America. His talk, “The Good Fight: America’s Ongoing Struggle for Justice,” will be held Friday, April 27, at 4:30 p.m. in Althouse Hall, Room 106, 45 N. College Street. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.

Smolan’s lecture takes its name from the book he co-authored with Jennifer Erwitt. In it, they use photographs of struggle and activism to put social challenges and triumphs in perspective. The project, which was supported by the Anti-Defamation League, includes multimedia presentations, videos, songs and a companion smartphone app. People Magazine chose “The Good Fight” as one of its top 12 books of the year.
