Skill Level: Beginner or those needing a refresher course

Spend a Saturday learning how to use basic woodturning tools through project-based exercises and experience the satisfaction of making a finished project on one machine! Your creativity will come alive as you design and turn weed pots, vases, honey dippers, and a bottle stopper. Clear instructions will be given and demonstrated and one on one individual help will be provided to help you master the skills woodturning. Ted will help every student to leave with a successful project!

All materials needed for the class are included in the tuition. If you have your own safety glasses, smock, or turning tools feel free to bring them along. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or there are many takeout options within walking distance of the Guild.

About the Instructor:

Ted has been an active woodturner for 45 years and has sold his work at craft shows for 30 years. He won "The Best in Wood" award at the State Craft Fair in 1980 and has been selling his work in various local galleries for the past 15 years. He is a retired Industrial Arts teacher with 32 years of service in the School District of Lancaster and was most recently invited to teach at the John C. Campbell Folk School in 2013 & 2015. His love of teaching continues at the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen in Lancaster, PA.
