Yoga in the Main Gallery
If you are looking for a new challenge for your body, that offers a new perspective for your mind, try Yoga in the Galleries. This is more than a yoga class. It is also a live interactive installation, led by an experienced instructor, where participants explore both movement and stillness amidst the artwork currently on view. These Saturday-morning sessions take place while the museum is open to the public, and in a shared space with all other museum visitors. Those who are interested in Yoga in the Galleries generally have open minds and free spirits. They enjoy experiencing art in new ways, especially when their response is inspired by, or can inspire, another person! Share this unique experience with a friend, or treat yourself to a new way of experiencing art and yoga.
Instructor Shani Jones will be leading the flow from her mat, with inspired visual and verbal cues! A student of yoga since the mid-'90s, Shani has spent 1000+ hours in teacher training programs and over 5000 hours of teaching time. Shani completed her first teacher certification with Don and Amba Stapleton and completed advanced teacher training certification with Shiva Rea.
