details

The Eisenhower National Historic Site is the home and farm of General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The site is located next to the Gettysburg Battlefield. It was a weekend retreat and meeting place for the President and world leaders. It served as a perfect getaway from Washington and offers a beautiful view of the South Mountain.

Eisenhower National Historic Site contains 690 acres and four farms, three of which were used by President Eisenhower for his show herd of black Angus cattle. The farm is still maintained today as it was during the Eisenhower years. The President's home also retains nearly all its original furnishings. Visitors can tour the home, grounds, and take a walk to the cattle barns and skeet range.

To visit Eisenhower National Historic Site, tickets can be purchased at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center and Museum at 1195 Baltimore Pike. Entrance to the site is only available by shuttle bus which departs from the Visitor Center throughout the day.
