A new team of trained volunteers will lead the tours. A tour is offered on Friday, April 8 at 10:00 A.M. starting at the Cumberland County Historical Society, 21 N. Pitt Street in Carlisle. The tours are one hour in length and the cost is $8.00 per person for members and $12.00 per person for non-members. Call 249-7610 to register. David Smith will again lead the popular Camp Michaux Walking Tour on two different dates. The walks will be held at 10 AM and 1 PM on April 9 and again at 10 AM and 1 PM on April 16. Cost is $8 for members and $12 for non-members. Please call 249-7610 for reservations.
Another new walking tour being offered will be held at Ashland Cemetery. During the 45-minute walk through the cemetery, volunteer Lisa Brousse will describe the monuments, provide the history of Carlisle's most prominent families and pay special tribute to the Soldier's Lots.
