The Pennsylvania Bus Association (PBA) schedules FAM tours during their conference every year and for the first time they are visiting the Cumberland Valley. The tour is scheduled for Tues., March 23rd and two buses of approximately 70 PBA show attendees will be on the tour. They will be visiting The Kitchen Shoppe and Meadowbrooke Gourds in Carlisle. Both destinations are great stops for groups to engage in hands-on experiences, which are an increasingly popular travel trend. PBA show attendees consist of tour operators and planners who are looking for experiential activities of interest to their travelers.
The second FAM tour is scheduled for March 29th and 30th. The PA Welcome Center staff will be visiting the Cumberland Valley area for two full days to gain a complete understanding of the county's attractions. The 25 full-time welcome center staff members, representing almost all of the centers in the state, will be visiting highlights from the western part of the county on Monday to the eastern part of the county on Tuesday.
"We are very pleased to welcome these two groups and excited to show them all the great things to see and do in the area", said CVVB Sales Manager Dawn Rickenbach. "This will be a great way to inform those who inform our visitors of where to eat, shop and play while going on a trip or passing through the region."
The mission of the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau is to promote Cumberland Valley as a tourist destination, attract visitors to the area, enhance the visitor's experience, and to encourage and promote overnight stays. The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau is also part of Pennsylvania's Dutch Country Roads region, a true vacation destination where country meets city and the past lives side-by-side with the present.
