2026 Fish-for-Free Days are Sunday, May 24, 2026, and Saturday, July 4, 2026. Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations still apply. It’s a great way to introduce someone to the world of fishing. Pine Grove Furnace State Park also participates in the Fishing Tackle Loaner program. Borrow free fishing gear like you’d borrow a book from a library! They loan out rods, reels, and a tackle box full of hooks and other tackles for anyone to use! Just complete a form to borrow gear and then head out fishing! Return the equipment to the loaner site when your fishing adventure is complete. (First-come, first-served basis.)
