Hey baby, do we have an 18-karat trip for you! Dig out your Bobby Darin tapes (yes, we know you still have them), put on your favorite gloves and enjoy a blast from the past.

Half Day

To truly live a vintage memory, you need to be dressed the part! Start your trip at Miss Ruth’s Time Bomb with a shopping spree for vintage and vintage-inspired clothing and accessories.  This newly renovated space boasts retro clothing, accessories and gifts.

Next, it’s time to glam up your look. Pop into Marjorie’s Gems and browse their collection of vintage and antique jewelry ranging from costume jewelry to estate jewels.

Carlisle and the surrounding area are filled with antique shops, check out our Cumberland Valley Antiques Trail for places to discover one-of-a-kind retro items.

Full Day

For lunch, pick a fancy hat (or bring your own!) at Camellia’s Sin Tea Parlor & Gift Shop to wear as you sip on a selection of themed teas and nibble on bite-sized treats. Don’t forget to peruse the gift shop for the finishing touches to your perfect vintage outfit.

Pick up a few souvenirs at Georgie Lou’s Retro Candy. This store features over 450+ kinds of candy for kids of all ages, as well as nostalgic gifts including metal signs and lunch boxes, toys and games and more.

Your evening ends with a swingin’ good time at The Green Door Dance Studio. Every Tuesday and Saturday free swing classes are provided, followed by open dance. Partners aren’t required, so no excuses!

Make it a Weekend

Old Sled Works is an antique mall in a converted Lightning Guider factory that produced the world-famous sleds from 1904-1990. Today, the Old Sled Works offers guests a mini sled museum, an authentic 1950’s fountain (the last operating drugstore counter in Harrisburg, PA), a working penny arcade with over 50 classic games from the 1920’s-1970’s as well as 125 antique and craft vendors.

Top off your day at the Cumberland Drive-in Theater, where you can see new movie releases on a big screen dating back to 1952.  No worries if you brought your vintage wheels, radios are available for rent.
