"Last year was such a success we decided to make it an annual event. We have limited seats and tickets are selling out fast, " says Ashleigh Corby, Director of Marketing at Rillo's. Adult Prom will take place at Rillo's Restaurant on Saturday, November 6th at 6 p.m. The evening will start with a wine and Market Cross Brewery sampling with light hors' douevres. Music will begin at 7 p.m. and the Prom King & Queen will be crowned at 9 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction to raise more funds for the cause with great prizes donated from Miss Ruth's Time Bomb, Rillo's Restaurant, Market Cross Pub & Brewery, The Green Room, The Rolling Bead, The ClothesVine, California Café, Dave Bender Massage Therapist and Fairfield Inn & Suites.
In addition to money raised from the auction, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to The United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County. Holly Laufer, campaign director for United Way tells us that "funds raised from this event help provide support to 44 programs and services funded by United Way; programs that help address some of the critical human service needs in our greater Carlisle community. The prom is a terrific way to support a worthwhile cause and have fun doing it! As a 2009 prom-goer, I witnessed first- hand, the great fun and generosity of prom goers. Kudos to Miss Ruth's and Rillo's for recognizing the value of prom and making it an annual event!"
Guests are encouraged to take a trip back in time at Miss Ruth's Time Bomb for their prom attire. "We have so much fun with our Adult Prom customers. Usually when a mother and teenage daughter come in the shop for formal wear, they are there for a high school prom or homecoming event. However with Adult Prom, it's the mother looking for that perfect dress and her daughter helping with a final choice. We love hearing a teenager telling her mother, "Mom, you look beautiful!" That is what makes Adult Prom so special. It's a chance for adults to take time away from their usual routines to feel young, full of life and beautiful!" says Sarah Taby, co-owner of Miss Ruth's Time Bomb.
Tickets can be purchased at Miss Ruth's Time Bomb at 115 W. High Street or Rillo's Restaurant 60 Pine Street. Tickets are $30 and include a wine and Market Cross Brewery sampling, light hors' douevres, prom picture by Jeremy Schultz, prom favor, raffle ticket and entertainment by DJ Russ with Bob Foltz Entertainment. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend.
