Cumberland Valley Golf

Cumberland Valley offers nine scenic and challenging golf courses within a half-hour drive, making it a great destination for a golf getaway weekend. No matter your handicap, you’ll enjoy well-maintained greens and plenty of amenities on these courses. 

In Carlisle, you have your pick of four public golf courses. Carlisle Barracks Golf Course honors active military with priority tee times, but all are welcome at this 18-hole, par 72 course. Check out the bar and restaurant while you’re there, along with the renovated clubhouse, pro shop, driving range and indoor simulator. 

Enjoy stunning views and rich history at Cumberland Golf Club, an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by James Harrison. The club lounge is a great place to enjoy a drink or a meal after your round. 

Play 9 or 18 holes at Eagle Crossings Golf Club. This par 72 course dazzles with panoramic mountain views and several man-made lakes. 

Take on the challenge of Mayapple Golf Club, which features an award-winning links style design and elevated greens. This par 70 for men, par 72 for women course also has a driving range, locker rooms and a bar and grille.

In nearby Mechanicsburg, three additional public courses await. Armitage Golf Club, par 70, is frequently recognized by Harrisburg Magazine’s “Simply the Best” for its challenging greens, strategic bunkers and sculptured fairways. When you’re finished on the fairways, head to the restaurant overlooking the course for refreshing food and drinks. 

Liberty Forge emphasizes the natural beauty of Cumberland Valley with terrain changes, water obstacles and bent grass tees, fairways and greens. This 18-hole, par 63 course offers three different tee boxes so golfers of all skill levels can enjoy a challenge. 

Rich Valley Golf uses easy-to-play bent grass greens on its par 71 championship golf course. They also have a 3-hole practice course and a natural grass driving range. 

Carlisle and Mechanicsburg are both excellent places to stay and play, with plenty of lodging and dining options. After golfing, visit Carlisle to enjoy a historic and walkable town with lots of shopping and culture. In Mechanicsburg, sample the parks and museums before it’s time to hit the links again.
