Yellow Breeches Creek Water Trail
The world-renowned limestone stream, Yellow Breeches Creek, originates on South Mountain, in Michaux State Forest, Cumberland Valley, near Walnut Bottom. From there, the Yellow Breeches meanders through the Valley's farmland, forested areas, and suburbs, and joins the Susquehanna River near New Cumberland. The main stem of the Yellow Breeches is some 49 miles long & 60 feet wide at its middle stretch.
Public Access to Messiah University Property: Yellow Breeches Creek/ Starry Field Complex access will be closed on the following dates due to events taking place on campus:
- Friday, May 8, 2026
- Saturday, May 9, 2026
- Monday, May 25, 2026
- Saturday, July 4th, 2026
- Friday, August 21, 2026
- Saturday, August 22, 2026
During these dates, the public may not enter any part of the campus to access the creek.
