Economic Development Coordinator

 

Purpose

The Economic Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Economic Development team with CRM efforts, loan packaging and administrative support. This position will also co-share receptionist duties with the Marketing & Sales Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the maintenance and organization of the CRM system on the economic development side, including annual Alliance invoicing.
  • Process grant applications for businesses on the state data entry system.
  • Supports grant and loan initiatives including researching grant and loan opportunities.
  • Gathers required documents for a loan package on behalf of the Economic Development Manager.
  • Manages the Economic Development Manager’s and Workforce Development Manager’s calendars and phones.
  • Initial point of contact for funding requests.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationship with local businesses.
  • Supports the Workforce Development Manager on event planning, including vendor coordination and on-site coordination.
  • Ability to run Economic Development reports when requested from the CRM system.
  • Maintains schedule of loans and grants that are in process.
  • Initiates follow up requests on in-process loans and grants.  
  • On designated days, receives and greets all visitors and directs them to the appropriate staff member.
  • On designated days, answers all incoming calls on a multi-line system, retrieves voicemails and routes them appropriately.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

Associate’s Degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Marketing & Sales Coordinator

 

Purpose

The Marketing & Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting tourism marketing, sales and visitor services activities and coordinating CAEDC’s events. This position will be in direct contact with partners to update the CRM, coordinate efforts for partners to participate in our themed trails and plan CAEDC’s events. This position will also co-share receptionist duties with the Economic Development Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as the main point person for the maintenance and organization of the tourism section of the CRM.
  • On designated days, receives and greets all visitors and directs them to the appropriate staff member.
  • On designated days, answers all incoming calls on a multi-line system, retrieves voicemails and routes them appropriately.
  • Answers and responds to visitor requests/questions by phone or submitted via the tourism website.
  • Supports the marketing department on the maintenance of our themed trails including partner outreach and sign ups, and mailing and delivering of materials and prizes.
  • Assists with the fulfillment of all inventories of collateral, giveaways, and printed materials.
  • Coordinates and assists with CAEDC events, tradeshows, FAM tours and site visits, and attends as needed.
  • Assists with pulling materials for CAEDC tables at sponsored events.
  • Works with the marketing department to update all destination sales material, including print and online. 
  • Supports existing group tours through developing itineraries, coordinating with partners and welcoming groups.
  • Assists with selling advertising space to local businesses and partners for products such as the Visitors Guide, Website, eNews and CELP.
  • Maintains an informed, working knowledge of all accommodations, attractions and other services available in the Cumberland Valley as well as all surrounding area major tourism venues to provide quality service to the visitor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Visitors Center Volunteer

The Visitors Bureau seeks volunteers to help staff our two Visitors Center locations - one in historic downtown Carlisle (33 West High Street) and the one at the US Army Heritage and Education Center (950 Soldiers Drive) in Carlisle. If you enjoy meeting and speaking with people and are willing to learn and share information about the Cumberland Valley, this position is for you!

Our two Visitors Center locations are a great source of free information on hotels, restaurants, attractions, events and shops within the county. Our friendly volunteers serve as brand ambassadors and ensure a positive visitor experience by assisting visitors and motivating them to explore more of our region. The Visitors Bureau provides free training and a flexible schedule.
