September Featured Events
Visit downtown Carlisle for Harvest of the Arts, which features 100 juried artists, live music, children's activities, and a variety of food and drink options. Stroll along High Street, browse through vendor booths, and explore the eclectic mix of shops in the area.
The New Cumberland Apple Festival takes place on the last Saturday in September. Here, you can enjoy everything apple, from crafts and fine arts to delicious apple-themed foods. There are also plenty of children's activities to keep the little ones entertained.
Enjoy acres of sunflowers set amidst the scenic beauty of the Meadowbrooke Gourds' farm. Their annual Sunflower Festival features craft vendors, food trucks, an Oops sale, musical entertainment, and 50 acres of sunflowers free for picking.
Celebrate all things tea at the Pennsylvania Tea Festival. Held in an herb garden, this festival offers guided tea tastings, samplings, informative programs, music, and more.
October Featured Events
Adams-Ricci Park hosts Pennsboro Pumpkin Fest the second weekend in October. This popular event features craft vendors, a custom and antique car show, live entertainment, children's activities, and pumpkin-themed food.
Set in the bucolic Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Fall Furnace Fest boasts food and craft vendors, live entertainment, environmental education programs, historical demonstrations, guided hikes, and food. Kids will love hayrides, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, and the annual "Hairy Hand" program, where lit pumpkins are floated in the lake.
The multi-day Shippensburg Pumpkin Festival features live pumpkin carving, food trucks, craft vendors, live music, hay rides, and more.
