Mt. Holly Springs PA

This small town, nestled in the gap of the south mountains of Cumberland Valley by Mountain Creek, has a long history. Settled after the French & Indian War, inhabitants engaged in agriculture and various small-scale industries including lumbering and iron production, and later, paper-making. The borough was established in 1873.

In 1901, a recreational park opened along Mountain Creek in Mt. Holly Springs where local residents could boat on a 30-acre lake, picnic, hike, and play baseball. There was also a dance hall, bowling alley, and roller coaster. The park grew in popularity through the early 1900s but eventually closed in 1930 and no visible remnants remain.

Today, the town offers a mixture of outdoor recreation, dining, history, and shopping.
