For nearly a hundred years, thousands have flocked to Mechanicsburg on the third Thursday in June for Jubilee Day, the largest and longest-running one-day street fair on the East Coast. This vibrant community celebration draws crowds of over 70,000 people to enjoy food, live music, and shopping. With fun and activities for all ages, this is a beloved event you don’t want to miss. Just be sure to come hungry!

The smell of mouth-watering food greets you as you walk down the streets of this charming small town. Food stands and trucks offer every fair favorite imaginable, plus plenty of surprises. If it can be fried, you can find it here — from onion rings and french fries to deep-fried Oreos and Twinkies to all sorts of veggies. Funnel cakes are available with or without toppings and even come in pumpkin flavor. Meat lovers can chow down on giant turkey legs, hotdogs, steak sandwiches, and barbecue. Enjoy gyros, falafel, or shish ka-bobs. And grab a refreshing lemonade, smoothie, or ice cream float, cone, or sundae to cool off on a hot summer day.

In between treats, check out the vendors under the white pop-up tents, selling arts, crafts, and unique products and promoting local businesses and organizations. Music drifts through the air as local and regional performers take to two separate stages, serenading you with a wide range of musical styles, from country to rock to jazz to blues. If you need a break from the crowds, step into a shop, restaurant, or bar to experience the best Mechanicsburg has to offer.

Jubilee DayJubilee Day is fun for everyone. It’s a great event to attend with friends and family as you lean into childhood nostalgia. Little ones will love the children’s area, which features a petting zoo, face painting, interactive activities, and more.

Despite the crowds, the event has a small-town feel as the Cumberland Valley community comes together to celebrate the start of summer. You never know who you might run into. Maybe an old friend. Perhaps a local celebrity. Walk the same streets that your parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents did, knowing you’re participating in a tradition that dates to 1924 when Mechanicsburg celebrated the first Famers and Merchants Jubilee Day in May. You may even forge new connections or discover new favorite businesses and vendors. At least one married couple first met on Jubilee Day!

Jubilee Day is held annually in Mechanicsburg on the third Thursday of June from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Festivities occur on Main Street from York Street to Walnut Street and Market Street from Simpson Street to Strawberry Avenue. Pets and bicycles are not allowed, so please leave your pups at home for this one. Parking is off-site, and free shuttle buses are available to deliver you right to the action. Check out the event page for more information about this year’s street fair.

Don’t miss your chance to experience one of Cumberland Valley’s oldest and most beloved traditions. Mark your calendars and plan to attend Jubilee Day, a nostalgic community celebration you won’t soon forget!
