Parx Casino in Shippensburg becomes the first casino to open in Cumberland County.
Taking over a vacant space from a former home and garden retail chain, Parx filled 70,000 sq. ft. with approximately 500 slot machines, electronic table games, sports betting kiosks, and the Liberty Bar and Grill Restaurant. There is also additional space that can be utilized for future development in the casino.
The Liberty Bar and Grill offers a selection of comfort foods like burgers, sandwiches, wings, pizza, steak and more. There are also grab-and-go offerings at the casino.
Parx held a test-run on Monday, January 23rd and Tuesday, January 24th, giving any proceeds to four local charities.
The new Parx location is considered a mini casino, as they operate a larger location in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
