The 1.1 mile liner Black Gum Trail follows the contour of the mountainside near the Mansion Area in Kings Gap and offers hikers an abundant views of black gum (tupelo) trees. The trail can be accessed via the Kings Gap Hollow or Forest Heritage Trails.
More Difficult (difficulty rating based on technical challenge, not physical exertion): Elevation gain or loss is moderate, less than 12% slope, maximum 30% up to 300 feet.
