Effective 5/31/21, all COVID-19 restrictions related to gatherings, restaurants, and other businesses were lifted. The masking order was lifted on 6/28/21. However, businesses and organizations may continue to implement mask policies and individuals may continue to mask if they choose to do so. Our restaurants, shops, attractions, and hotels are ready to welcome you. Buchanan State Forest

Buchanan State Forest covers 71,683 acres in Franklin, Fulton, and Bedford counties and boasts an extensive 157 mile shared-use trail system. The state forest also contains networks of local trails through many types of forest that range from easily-hiked paths to steep and rocky trails originally built as fire breaks. Two state parks -- Cowans Gap and Buchanan's Birthplace -- are located within Buchanan State Forest.
