details
The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a continuous footpath extending more than 2180 miles between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. The Trail is maintained largely by volunteer labor organized in more than 30 maintaining clubs working with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the National Park Service. The Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club (CVATC) is one of those clubs, responsible for maintaining 17 miles of the Trail across the Cumberland Valley near Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
