The Eichelberger Distillery at Dills Tavern resurrects the dreams of two immigrant families as they stood at the crossroads of a changing American era. The Eichelberger family spent three generations crafting distilled spirits to thirsty American frontiers in rural Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Now more than 200 years later, the “new” Eichelberger Distillery at Dills Tavern carries on that legacy by distilling whiskey with an 18th-century recipe, technique and attitude.
The Eichelberger Distillery is a licensed, working distillery where distillers make rye whiskey on woodfired, handmade, pot stills using 18th century techniques. Come enjoy the taste of spirits in front of a 12-foot fireplace in the tasting room.
Tours and tastings are available. Tours are approximately thirty minutes. Those wishing to participate in the tasting portion of the tour must present valid ID.
On Wednesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm, drop in and see what's happening in the distillery as the distillers share the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of their most recent endeavors in a casual and relaxed setting. On Saturdays, the distillery is open from 10 am to 4 pm with tours beginning on the hours at 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm. On Sunday, tours begin on the hour at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm.
Tours are available to walk-ins as space permits or you may purchase tickets online. ($10)
The Eichelberger Distillery @ Dills Tavern is a participating location on the Cumberland Valley Beer Trail.
