Two active wildfires—Thompson Hollow Fire and Hammonds Rocks Fire—are currently burning in Michaux State Forest in Cumberland County. As crews continue to make progress containing the wildfires, all roads related to the Hammonds Rocks Fire have reopened to traffic. For the Thompson Hollow Fire, Three Turn Road and Thompson Hollow Road remain limited to residential traffic only. All other roads previously closed have reopened.

The 2-acre Heberlig-Palmer Tot Lot offers a baseball/softball field, multi-purpose field, playground/tot lot, and benches. The park also features a Born Learning Trail, a series of nine learning activities that promote fun and games. It is based on the latest early childhood research and approved by national early learning experts. It offers an interactive, playful engagement tool to help parents, caregivers and communities support early learning by helping boost children's language and literacy skills, and encouraging families to be active. The Trail was installed by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Carlisle.

The pavilion covers 6 tables and can be rented by contacting Carlisle Parks and Recreation at 717-243-3318.
