Irish Gap Access Area

58 Irish Gap Road,
Newville, PA 17241
details

In 2011, an additional 1,077 acres, designated as the "Irish Gap Tract," were added to Kings Gap State Park. The Irish Gap Access Area, located just a short distance from the main entrance to the park, provides visitors with access to the Irish Gap Hollow Trail and the Two Hollows Trail. These two trails combine for a distance of 1.3 miles and connect to the Boundary Trail

There is a small parking lot at the access area. The trails are blazed yellow. The Irish Gap Hollw Trail is a relatively wide .4-mile trail with a flat surface. It follows the path of the stream. The longer Two Hollows Trail has an uneven surface and some rocky outcroppings. Along both, hikers will find wooden footbridges as well as man-made stone crossings that cross over the creek at several locations.

If you use the main entrance to the park, you can access these two trails via the Boundary Trail.
