Lower Allen Community Park in Mechanicsburg is perfect for large family gatherings, picnics, family reunions, sporting events and more. The 110-acre park features four pavilions, primitive camp sites and athletic fields for rent.
Other activities include a Butterfly Garden, horse shoe pitching, non-motorized boat launch, access to the Yellow Breeches Creek for boating and fishing, bike riding, play areas, Field of Dreams Playground, golf driving range, nature trail, and a wildlife and bird watching area. In addition, cross country skiing and sledding are popular activities during the winter months. The Field of Dreams Playground is an ADA-accessible "fortress" located in the center of the park. The park is also home to the "Doggie Dugout", a park for dogs to run and play off-leash.
Nature Trail: The Nature Trail is a flat, one-mile loop with interpretive signage highlighting the marsh, Yellow Breeches Creek, and woodland flowers to name a few. Miles of Trail: 1, Trail Surface: Wood chips, Trail Slope: Easy, Trail Type: Loop
Fun for Under 4: The tot lot play area and pavilion are located near the park entrance. This play area is equipped with a slide, swings, rocking animals, and various climbers. The pavilion accommodates approximately 30.
Sports: Lower Allen Community Park features baseball, softball, and soccer fields, volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, a driving range and a multipurpose field.

- Directions: Take I-81 North to Route 581. Travel towards Harrisburg and take the Gettysburg exit to Route 15 South. Take the Rossmoyn/Wesley exit and turn left off the ramp. Travel for approximately 1.5 miles, until you come to a “T” in the road. Turn right onto Lisburn. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles; Community Park is on the left side of Lisburn Road (look for red barn).
