Built in 1925 as the largest vaudeville and silent-movie theatre in south-central Pennsylvania, the Majestic Theater has been owned by Gettysburg College in 1992. It enlivens the cultural life of the community by presenting a diverse mix of films and live performances. A $20 million renovation recreated its original Colonial Revival features and added some modern amenities.
