Middle Spring Creek is a spring-fed trout stream with tributaries including Branch Creek, Burd Run, Gum Run and Mains Run. The stream runs through the heart of Shippensburg and into Franklin County.
Although the stream has access points within the town, no fishing is allowed in Shippensburg.
Fly Fishing: The main stem of Middle Spring Creek are stocked with Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout. The upper reaches of Middle Spring Creek (the headwaters of Gum Run and Mains Run) support a wild population of Brown trout.
Fishing: The waters support young Bass, Sunfish, Perch, Chub, Carp, Suckers, Minnows, Daces, Sculpin, and other fish species.
