In 1867, the Cumberland Valley Railroad built the Mechanicsburg Passenger Station. It served CVRR passengers until 1919, when the CVRR was bought out by the Pennsylvania Railroad. It serve PRR passengers until 1952, when passenger service on the line ended. Now, it serves as headquarters for the Mechanicsburg Museum Association, and houses displays of Cumberland Valley Railroad history and Mechanicsburg history, as well as lectures and special events. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm. Admission to normal exhibits is free.
