The Iron Furnace at Pine Grove Furnace State Park was built in 1764 and operated until 1895. In addition to the stone furnace, other historic buildings, such as the Ironmaster's Mansion, clerk's office, stable, grist mill (now the Visitor Center), the second iron master's mansion (now the park office) and several residences still remain. Pine Grove Iron Works was entered in the National Register of Historical Places in 1977.
