The 2.5-mile linear Scenic Vista Trail in Kings Gap has a magnificent view of Michaux State Forest. Benches are strategically placed for you to take in the peace and quiet. A little less than half way the trail splits into Buck Ridge Trail which leads to Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
For a shorter hike, park at the Kings Gap Hollow Area. The Scenic Vista Trailhead is located next to the pavilion, and is 1 mile to the overlook.
More Difficult (difficulty rating is based on technical challenge, not physical challenge): Elevation gain or loss is moderate, less than 12% slope, maximum 30% up to 300 feet
