Shippensburg Township Community Park serves as the trailhead for the Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail. The park offers the following sports facilities: a baseball/softball field, soccer field, multi-purpose field and basketball court. There is also a playground/tot lot, picnic tables and pavilions, a water misting/wading pool, an amphitheater, benches and restroom facilities.
Disc Golf: Papa Jack's Disc Golf Course has 9 holes and length of 2,817 feet on a mostly flat and lightly wooded course. With a red par of 27, this course has natural tees and DISCatcher baskets. The course was named after John "Jack" Riddick, a retired Shippensburg University professor and world champion disc golfer.
