The Silver Spring Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsburg was founded in 1734 and after a few restorations is still used for worship today. The cemetery is the final resting place for Revolutionary War, War of 1812, French & Indian War, WWI, WWII and Civil War veterans.

Historic Marker: An on-site marker reads: "Founded 1734 on land of James Silver by Scotch-Irish Presbyterians, earliest settlers of the Cumberladn Valley. Present church built in 1783, restored in 1928 to its original style, and still used for worship."
