Two active wildfires—Thompson Hollow Fire and Hammonds Rocks Fire—are currently burning in Michaux State Forest in Cumberland County. As crews continue to make progress containing the wildfires, all roads related to the Hammonds Rocks Fire have reopened to traffic. For the Thompson Hollow Fire, Three Turn Road and Thompson Hollow Road remain limited to residential traffic only. All other roads previously closed have reopened.

Boiling Springs State Game Lands #305 is comprised of 730 acres of land for hunting, bird watching and hiking (dirt paths). The Appalachian Trail follows along the outside border of the game lands into Boiling Springs. Center Point Knob Trail is located within the State Game Lands #305.
