The Twirly Top is a locally-owned and operated 1950's era drive-in restaurant and has been in operation since opening around 1952. Beginning as a small ice cream stand on the corner of Pine Grove Road and Route 34 in Gardners, Twirly Top whips up only the absolute best soft ice cream in the area along with hand-dipped Premium Turkey Hill Ice Cream, smooth shakes, floats, and locally-grown fresh fruit sundaes, not to mention juicy burgers (always fresh, local, hand-pattied, 100% beef burgers), french fries, and more! Open seasonally (April - October), outdoor seating is available and ordering takes place at walk-up order windows.
Twirly Top is the "spot to stop" on the way to or from the nearby swimming & boating lakes at Pine Grove Furnace state park or the numerous hiking trails and campgrounds less than 4 miles away. Come make Twirly Top your favorite stop!
The Twirley Top is a participating location on the Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail.
