Spring Meadows Park

Spring MeadowsLocated in Boiling Springs, Spring Meadows is a beautiful park, especially during springtime when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. With paths stretching across the 91.16-acre park, you are bound to get a nice workout. The trail loop is 1.5 miles long, with the option to venture off to the South Middleton Township Park via the mile-long Fielding Belt Trail. On this adventure, you will get beautiful views of the mountains and Yellow Breeches.

 

Adams-Ricci Park

Adams-RicciRight next to the Conodoguinet Creek in Enola, Adams-Ricci Park is the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon. There are 5 trail paths to explore, with the longest being 1.25 miles. Your dog will enjoy access to the creek and watching the sports being played. This is a great spot to feel the warm summer sun and get some exercise for you and your pup.

 

Children’s Lake

Ducks swim along the edge of Children's Lake in Boiling Springs, PA.Located in the heart of Boiling Springs, Children’s Lake is a must visit while you’re in Cumberland Valley. Lover’s Walk, which goes right alongside Children’s Lake, is a short, 0.6 mile stroll. Your pup will enjoy watching the bubbles, ducks, and swans as you circle the lake. The Appalachian Trail passes right alongside the lake, so extend your walk and venture out past the iron furnace to enjoy the shade.

 

Kings Gap

Kings Gap Environmental Education CenterIf you’re looking for picture perfect views over Cumberland Valley, there is no better place than King’s Gap. With over 25 miles worth of trails at this state park, ranging from easy to difficult, your experience is entirely customizable. Elevation varies depending on the trail, so make sure you choose one suitable for you and your pet. Finish your excursion by visiting the stunning scenic vistas.

 

Letort Nature Trail

LeTort Spring Run Nature Trail-14This 2.5 mile out and back trail is an easy walk perfect for a light workout. Running alongside the Letort Spring Run, your pup will enjoy watching the stream and fly fishers as they look to catch some fish. With an accessible entrance at Letort Park, right outside downtown Carlisle, it’ll be easy to spend an afternoon here. Desperate Times Brewery and Molly Pitcher Brewing Company, two locations on the Cumberland Valley Beer Trail, have an outdoor, dog-friendly space for you to unwind after your walk.

 

Messiah Fitness Trail

Yellow Breeches-22Located at Messiah University, this walking trail takes you around the campus border. Navigate through the shady woods and alongside the yellow breeches. After you’ve finished your mile long walk, be sure to set up your hammock or take a dip in the breeches to cool off.
