If you're looking for a fun night out, look no further than the collection of performing arts centers and great dining establishments in Cumberland Valley. Our centers range from cozy community theatres to state-of-the-art centers that draw national acts. Below we've put together a few options for you depending on which town you'd like to visit. Each includes a fun suggestion for drinks or dessert afterward to keep your fun night going.

Carlisle

Dinner - There are too many great dining options in downtown Carlisle to suggest just one. In fact, there are over 30 restaurants in four short blocks. View the Dine Around the World list of restaurants and pick an option from this eclectic mix with flavors from across the globe. 

Show - There are two very distinct choices to catch a show in Carlisle. Enjoy a live performance or movie at the retro Carlisle Theatre or a quality performance by students at Dickinson College's Mathers Theater. Dickinson College also offers a number of musical performances by faculty and guest artists in Rubendall Recital Hall at the Weiss Center for the Arts.

Drinks & Dessert - Afterwards grab a delicious crepe or other tasty desserts at Helena's Chocolate Cafe & Creperie (open until 9 pm) or a drink at Molly Pitcher Brewing Co. (open until 11 pm). You can also end the evening by relaxing with a glass of wine, often accompanied by live music -- at Castlerigg Wine Shop (open until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays).

Shippensburg

Dinner - Enjoy a delicious dinner before your show at CJ's American Pub & Grill. Choose from their selection of burgers, steak, seafood and other pub classics.  

Show - Plan for a fun night out at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg University. This state-of-the-art center features Broadway performances, concerts by national-recording artists, famous speakers, comedians and more.

Drinks & Dessert - After, enjoy a drink at Appalachian Brewing Company (open until 11 pm). Dessert options include a s'mores pie infused with Chocolate Avenue Stout or an Appalachian Root Beer float.

Mechanicsburg

Dinner - Before a show nearby, enjoy dinner at local favorite Hellenic Kouzina Greek Cafe. This spot serves up traditional Greek food and keeps patrons coming back time and time again. Note: They are BYOB.

Show - Settle in for a lively community performance at the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg. Enjoy plays and musicals in this former one-room schoolhouse. 

Drinks & Dessert - Keep the fun going with at T.J. Rockwell's (open until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays) offering more than 70 brews -- from the classics to the trendy. Desserts include the decadent Turtle Fries (funnel cake) to the World's Smallest Sundae. 

Camp Hill

Dinner - Try something different before a show in Camp Hill. Located downtown, Cedars Restaurant features authentic and affordable Lebanese cuisine.

Show - Take in a musical, mystery, drama or comedy at the non-profit, local Oyster Mill Playhouse. Performances take place in the converted 1820's mill.

Drinks & Dessert - Keep the performance fun going. Stop by Cornerstone Coffeehouse afterward for dessert and coffee and to enjoy the live music.

Other Nearby Options

Cumberland Valley is conveniently located close to many other performing arts centers and theaters. The Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet is a nationally-recognized school of classical ballet in Carlisle and performs annually at the nearby Whitaker Center and Hershey Theatre.
