Car Shows for the Guys and Gals
Cumberland Valley is home to Carlisle Events, one of the world's largest presenters of collector car and truck entertainment. With nine annual auto shows attracting auto enthusiasts from all over the world, these shows boast a little something for everyone.
Half Day
Your bus will drop everyone off at the front gates of Carlisle Events Fairgrounds - service with a smile! Be sure to grab a show directory as there are events going on all weekend and vary by show. Many of the shows feature a Women's Oasis tent for the ladies, and plenty of fun for both guys and gals.
Full Day
Although there are plenty of delicious food stands scattered across the fairgrounds, guests have the option to be picked up at lunch time to sample any one of Cumberland Valley's 200+ restaurant options ranging from tender, barbeque-smokehouse spare ribs to brick-oven pizza served on a riverside deck.
After lunch, return to the fairgrounds for even more excitement. The gals will also have the option to be dropped off in downtown Carlisle for an afternoon full of shopping at a collection of retailers including funky gift shops, local artisan galleries, antiques and more. Cream tea at Camellia's Sin Tea Parlor & Gift Shop, one of the top rated tearooms in PA, will finish out the afternoon.
Make it a Weekend
After freshening up at the hotel, guests will be dropped off in Downtown Carlisle for the evening. Here they can pick any one of Carlisle's cultural dining options, including Belgium, English, Spanish, Japanese, Italian and American, to satisfy their palate. Other evening options include catching a movie in a 1939 art-deco Carlisle Theatre, sampling beers from all over the world at the downtown Market Cross Pub & Brewery or learning how to swing dance at The Green Door Dance Studio.
There are lots of great options to make a weekend in Cumberland Valley. The All-Ford National and Corvettes at Carlisle shows feature downtown parades and parties, downtown Carlisle features First Friday events all summer long and there are plenty of car-themed attractions in nearby towns. Or, for the passionate collectors, spend the day antiquing at any of the Valley's antique shops.
