Day 1
Stop #1: Grab lunch on a riverside patio
Views of the Susquehanna River and the Harrisburg skyline can best be enjoyed over sliders or a specialty sandwich at Duke’s Riverside Bar and Grille in Wormleysburg.
Stop #2: Explore the Valley’s Beer Trail
The Cumberland Valley Beer Trail highlights 25+ breweries, cideries, distilleries, and wineries, taking visitors on a tour of all the charm, culture, and natural beauty the Valley has to offer. Some of our favorite stops for enjoying a pint al fresco include:
Stop #3: Dinner on the deck
Cold Springs Inn Brewing Company takes full advantage of its scenic location along the Yellow Breeches Creek with a large deck extending about 14 feet over the creek. Dine alfresco on a simple menu of tasty food and a selection of delicious in-house and locally brewed beer, plus wine and spirits. (Open seasonally, March through November.)
Day 2
Stop #1: Sip coffee on a cozy porch
The Cracked Pot offers specialty coffee and light breakfast fare, plus a great cause — they support and employ youth who are aging out of the foster care system. Enjoy your espresso under their expansive covered porch or outdoor deck at their Mechanicsburg location.
Stop #2: Relax and nosh at a local winery
Take in the beautiful mountain views with a leisurely afternoon spent at The Winery at the Long Shot Farm. Visitors can snack on an assortment of cheese, meats, and crackers over a glass or a flight of wine from their scenic back porch. Or, sip on local ciders in the heart of an apple orchard at Big Hill Ciderworks. Enjoy views of the South Mountain at the picnic tables and Adirondack chairs in their outdoor space. Fire pits are available for cooler days and evenings.

Day 3
Stop #1: Brunch in style on a shaded porch
Plenty of outdoor seating is available on The Watershed Pub’s thoughtfully restored 1830s-era porch. Don’t miss their hearty benedict or chicken and waffles dishes, and soak up the historic charm of this local favorite.
Stop #2: Indulge in an afternoon ice cream
Faye’s Ice Cream Parlor invites you back to the 1950s with its nostalgia-fueled atmosphere and creative flavors. Take a seven-minute walk to New Cumberland Borough Park, where you can enjoy your cone on a park bench overlooking Yellow Breeches Creek.
